Costamiole

The wine

Costamiòle is produced from the Agliano Terme area where Barbera best expresses itself thanks to a favorable southern exposure.

Vinification

Costamiòle is produced from the vineyards in the Agliano Terme area, a place where Barbera best expresses itself thanks to a favorable southern exposure, ideal for this grape variety.

Winemaking

Freshly harvested grapes were brought to the cellar, destemmed and crushed. Maceration on the skins is carefully monitored to guarantee optimal extraction. The wine was aged for a period of approximately 12 months in new French oak barriques. Costamiòle was aged for at least an additional year in the bottle before being released.

Historical Data

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo on the right side of the Tanaro river, on gentle plains surrounded by vineyards in the Langhe and Roero territories. The natural beauty of the gently rolling hills alternate with small sloping valleys covered by rows of meticulously cultivated vineyards. The Antinori family, charmed by such rich natural beauty, unique vineyards and soils, decided to invest time and energy in this terroir to make Prunotto one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region.

Tasting Notes

Costamiòle is ruby red with violet hues. The nose is rich, intense and persistent: notes of violets and plums blend with hints of licorice and vanilla. The palate is well-balanced, energetic, intense and captivating accented by aromas of fruit and spices.
