Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain, which is made in relatively small quantities and blended with 3% Cabernet Franc, represents winemaker Stephanie Cohen’s first full vintage. Old-school estate-driven winemaking is the key, the grapes going directly into tank by gravity, with a lot of cap management done upfront before neutral barrels are used to ferment. Graphite and violet accent a slatey, soft, and supple foundation of long-lasting tannins, persistent acidity, and freshness that supports the medium to full-bodied frame. The wine spends 20 to 22 months in 100% new French oak and will age another 30-40 years.
