Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Deep, dark and nearly purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain lifts from the glass with a seductive blend of balsam herbs, crushed raspberries and lifted notes of sage and clove. This washes across the palate like pure silk, opening with sweet Christmas spices that give way to notes of blueberry and candied cherry, while inner nuances of incense form toward the close. Tapering off long and lightly structured, this is easy to enjoy already but adequately balanced for evolution, leaving notes of violet pastille and cinnamon to linger. While the élevage here (100% new French oak) is quite noticeable, it’s perfectly integrated. The 2019 has picked up energy over the past six months, making it a much more complete wine.
