Tenuta Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Coming mostly from the Quintessence Vineyard (80%) on Red Mountain, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Tenuta is cut from the same cloth, yet it cuts a broader path across the palate and is incredibly textured and layered, with beautiful cassis, currants, spicy oak, and chalky mineral-like aromas and flavors. I love its purity of fruit, and while it already offers pleasure today, it warrants 2-3 years in the cellar and will evolve for two decades if well stored. As with the classic Cabernet Sauvignon, this spent 20 months in new French oak. Along with the 2016, this is the finest wine I’ve tasted from this estate. Bravo.
