Paolo Battegazorre

Paolo Battegazorre has built an accomplished international career in sales, marketing, and management, with early roles including his work with Francesco Cinzano in Italy. His deep passion for wine ultimately led him into the wine industry, and in 1998, he was appointed General Manager of Luce della Vite srl, based in Florence. Founded in 1995 by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi of Florence and the Robert Mondavi family of Napa Valley, Luce della Vite produced Luce—the first wine from Montalcino to innovatively blend Sangiovese and Merlot, redefining winemaking in a region long known for its Brunellos.
In 2006, Paolo expanded his international experience by relocating to Napa Valley to join Folio Fine Wine Partners, a company founded by Michael and Isabel Mondavi and their children. As Italian Portfolio Manager, he oversaw the U.S. operations of Luce della Vite, Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, and Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, while continuing to serve globally as General Manager of Luce. In 2023, Paolo was named Chief Executive Officer of Vinattieri 1385, the newly formed sales and marketing arm for the Marchesi Antinori portfolio. In this role, he draws upon decades of cross-continental experience, bringing a unique balance of insight into both Italian heritage and the dynamics of the American wine market.
Outside of his professional life, Paolo enjoys skiing, tennis, running marathons, and nurturing his lifelong love of wine.
