Cabernet Sauvignon
Col Solare Red Mountain

The wine

This Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of decades of embracing the unique growing conditions of the Red Mountain AVA in Washington.

Vinification

Col Solare’s estate vineyard on Red Mountain in Washington was designed and planted according to the same specifications that the Antinori family uses in its own estate vineyards in Tuscany and Umbria. The orientation, spacing and density were matched with the site to ensure uniform ripening and fruit quality. The wine is 100% from Red Mountain and features mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc for added complexity.

Winemaking

At Col Solare, our winemakers pay great attention to every step of the grape growing and winemaking process to produce the best wine possible from each vintage. In the vineyards, this means meticulous study of seasonal characteristics to ensure that each viticultural step will be taken at the right time for the vines to ensure the best quality of fruit. In the cellar, the team, led by head winemaker Stephanie Cohen, pays special attention to each aspect of the fermentation process to guide the grapes into becoming a wine of the impeccable quality and style they seek for each bottle. The unique flexibility of Col Solare’s cellar affords the winemaking team complete control in all aspects of the winemaking process, tailoring the wine to the characteristics of each vintage from start to finish.
