The Vineyards
Produced from vineyards located at the estate’s highest elevation, with southern sunlight exposure, on a hillside that slopes down from 450 meters above sea level (1,476 feet) with a 10% gradient towards San Sano. Vineyard soils are mainly ochre clay with abundant very fine gravel (called scheletro) of alberese and galestro and with some scattered outcrops of exposed bedrock. The climate of this area is typical Mediterranean, with cold windy winters and hot, dry, breezy summers with excellent temperature swings between day and night.
